HOME Severe Weather Procedures
If a Tornado Warning is announced:
v Take shelter immediately by moving to the basement of the Church. The construction of the Church designates the basement as a storm shelter. All floors, outer and interior walls of the sanctuary are concrete slabs or masonry block.
v Move quickly, “DO NOT RUN”
v Move to an interior room away from windows – to an enclosed room, kitchen or hallway
v Do not use the elevators
v Assist disabled or elderly personnel or those who may require assistance
v Shelter in a safe place until you hear an announcement from a safety committee member that it is safe to return to your area
v Once you’ve situated yourself in the safest place you can find, protect your face and head, and stay where you are until an all clear is given
v The family center should be utilized only as a last resort
