Faith in Action
The Faith in Action committee works closely within our congregation and with the community to meet needs, provide information and education about issues, and chiefly to show Christ's love through ministering to others. Specifically, our Faith in Action team hosts a Mitten Tree campaign every Christmas in addition to our commitment in November in partnership with Operation Christmas Child. Additionally, within the congregation, our Stamp Ministry collects cancelled stamps to raise money for missions, our Knitting Neighbors craft and receive donations for those in need, and our committee provides a variety of gently used Medical Equipment to meet the needs of our congregation. For those seeking to be a blessing through adoption, an Adoption Grant is available by application. In the community, our Faith in Action committee also works in partnership with the following ministries:
Lakeshore Pregnancy Center - We work with the Holland Branch of LPC to enable them to have thenecessities for their many ministries towomen finding themselveswith an unplanned pregnancy. We participate with their June Life Walk, an event each year to help them raise their budget needs. We do a reverse offering in January in conjunction with Sanctity of Life Sunday, andwe collect baby items, diapers, Bibles (even children's Bibles for un-churched moms) and newborn clothes. On occasion we set up a collection barrel in the narthex to collect items when they are low in supplies. You will find a little note mentioning this need on a tab of the HRC website as well as in our church newsletter. All of these collections are delivered to them on a timely basis. For more information, visit the LPC website from the above link or at www.lpcenters.com.
Love, INC. - We work closely with Love, INC. of Hudsonville. Projects we do with them every year include, Clothe a Kid (which happens in summer), a reverse offering for their food bank, and we try to meet any immediate needs that our brought to our attention.
